The first of three radically different albums from this trio of weirdo North Americans (seriously, they are all defective yet wonderful guys) living in and infiltrating the Osaka noise rock underground. They vaguely fit somewhere between the Butthole Surfers, Scratch Acid, and the Residents.
Original 1992 One sheet:
Scratch is overjoyed to introduce NIMROD to North America with their debut full length release GRANDSON OF HAM. This over and undersexed trio of white guys are currently recentering themselves in Vancouver, a long swim from Osaka, Japan where GRANDSON was originally released on BRON RECORDS. Tim Olve, Zev Asher and Sam Lohman’s collective musical resumes boats stints with the DUSTDEVILS, ROUGHAGE, SHEER TERROR, TWERDOCLEB, ANT FARM, BUSTMONSTER (with MERZBOW) and NO CONTROL. Holy Smokes!
Call it noisy, call it sinister, call it perverted, call it intensely dense, call it whatever. NIMROD sound like nobody else. Hipsters will note the participation of BOREDOMS weirdo Yoshimi and Japanese sax legend Kosei Yamamoto. Fasten your seatbelts kids, Yokozuna candidates NIMROD will punish you with their mighty warbling belly.
